This was a very interesting project to be involved with. We were asked by our client to build a scaffold to the grade 2 listed boathouse which sits next to the River Thames, for works to install a complete new roof, and carry out re-decoration to all the wooden surfaces. Due to the location by the river and other environmental factors, extra precautions had to be taken to minimise debris contaminating the bordering area. We carried out these works during the peak visiting times, this meant that there were a lot of visitors to the Cliveden Estate, both in the grounds and on the nearby river, so with Contractor guidelines these were taken into consideration when planning the project thus keeping both the public and workers safe, as well as protecting the surroundings and listed building. Carrying out these works during the height of the season meant that our Client could deliver within budget, as the cost of installing a temporary roof was avoided, as this would have been essential had works being carried out during the winter. All works completed to the programme with no interruption to the guests visiting the estate.
